Set up a fundraising page using Local Giving

A great way to raise funds is to set up a Local Giving page,
it is easy to do, and it enables you to promote your fundraising activity and for people to pay online.

Plan your event

  • You could organise an event or join in with existing one’s. Our friendly fundraisers are always on hand to discuss ideas with you.
  • Ask for help from your friends, family and work colleagues. You could get them to help with the groundwork, ask them to take charge of particular tasks e.g. location, health and safety, or refreshments.
  • We can offer lots of different ideas to market and publicise your event. Get in touch – dylan.evans@flintshirecab.org.uk or 01352 870655 or through our Facebook and Twitter.

Fundraising

  • Create an online fundraising page so your supporters can donate easily and securely.
  • Get your Sponsorship Form for people who will be giving you cash.
  • Ask about matched giving at work as many employers are happy to give £1 for every £1 you raise, doubling your support.
  • Think about the impact of your fundraising efforts. You could share some statistics or stories and tell people about the work that we do.
  • Don’t forget that Gift Aid counts. It’s a simple scheme that allows us to claim the basic rate tax, 25p on every £1 donated. So if someone donated £100 to your fundraising efforts then it means that you could actually be giving us £125.

Communication is key

Give your sponsors regular updates on your progress, start a blog, tweet or put posts on your Facebook page. Take photos as you go and upload onto your fundraising page. Spread the word. Remember that the most important thing is to thank your sponsors for their generosity.
