Mandy Plant wanted to fundraise for us as she is so inspired by how many people we help. She understands how vital our services are to those who depend on us.
The West Coast Bike Challenge was not to be underestimated. It consisted of cycling over 260 grueling miles over three days and involved catching several ferries hopping from Island to Island on the western coast of Scotland.
The journey started by taking the first ferry from Adrossan around to Cambeltown and then cycling 100 miles up to Oban. Mandy saw some amazing sites including seals, highland cattle, but sadly not the elusive Otter!
The following day she took another ferry over to the beautiful Island of Mull and she cycled around this fantastic Island grabbing lunch at the spectacular Tobermory.
Her final day took her to the Sensational Inverary Castle for morning tea and then the race was on to make sure she caught her final ferry at Colintraive to arrive at her final destination back on the mainland.
Mandy completed her challenge before the famous Scottish midges arrived on mass and raised £700 for Citizens Advice Flintshire.
Mandy said “I have worked at Citizens Advice Flintshire for four years and we help anyone who needs our services and often by the time people contact us they feel desperate, alone and have nowhere else to turn. Citizens Advice Flintshire is a truly amazing charity and our staff and volunteers often go beyond the call of duty when they are trying to support people. We have a unique, dedicated and caring team. I did this challenge to continue to support Citizens Advice Flintshire’s work in helping thousands of people every year with their complicated and complex problems”.
