We are funded by Welsh Government to provide free advice, casework and representation to anyone living in North Wales who has experienced discrimination either while they are in work or while they were accessing goods or services.
The Welsh Government has awarded a contract to Citizens Advice Cymru to help those people who have been treated unfairly because of who they are e.g. because they are pregnant, because of their race, because of their sexual orientation or faith or some other protected characteristic which makes them who and what they are.
Advice is provided via telephone, e-mail, face to face appointments, Skype and home-visits. We can also provide the service in Welsh where required.
Over the past year, we have been able to reach out to over 200 clients experiencing various discrimination issues and have helped negotiate many successful outcomes on their behalf. Many clients have reported improved knowledge of their rights and have expressed satisfaction with the service.
