Steve started volunteering for Citizens Advice Flintshire in 2009. He was one of the first volunteers to roll out our gateway service. After 3 years Steve gained part-time employment with Citizens Advice Flintshire delivering advice on Saturdays. He later went on to become a Debt Caseworker which he did for 3 years.

Due to funding cuts in 2013 a number of staff was faced with redundancy. Steve was offered the position of Administrator for 2 days per week and with the Training and Recruitment department for 3 days per week which he accepted.

The Administration role involves making sure the 3 offices run smoothly. From ordering and distributing stationary, answering phone calls from clients and pointing them in the right direction, to organising events & meetings and much more.

The training and recruitment role involves recruiting new volunteers at events, maintaining the volunteer database, organising email addresses & accounts for volunteers, and also providing some occasional training to new volunteers.

He enjoys his role at Citizens Advice Flintshire as the nature of the job doing admin, training and recruitment is very varied. No 2 days are the same which makes the job very interesting

Steve lives with his partner and enjoys walking his 2 dogs, Poppy & Spot. He also enjoys gardening.
